Mr. Tobolowsky is recognized as a key participant in the motion picture and entertainment industry, and represents major motion picture exhibitors throughout the nation. He has handled matters of important legal significance in this area, including a successful 1960 First Amendment challenge to a Dallas ordinance. This case was argued by Mr. Tobolowsky before the U. S. Supreme Court, and the Court agreed with Mr. Tobolowsky that the ordinance was unconstitutional. In an antitrust suit, he obtained a million dollar settlement for a motion picture exhibitor after a distributor denied current films to the exhibitor. The ruling in this case assisted other exhibitors to prevail in similar suits.

In addition to the entertainment industry, Mr. Tobolowsky assists new and ongoing businesses in employer-employee relations, day-to-day management, organization, and litigation ranging from antitrust violations to breaches of employee covenants. He also spends substantial time on complex estate administration.

Edwin Tobolowsky has lived and worked in the Dallas area his entire life.

From 1979 to 1983, Mr. Tobolowsky served as the chairman of the Plaintiff's Steering Committee in the Multi-District Litigation 366, Southern District of Texas. While he was chairman, Mr. Tobolowsky oversaw the consolidation of a large number of motion picture antitrust suits into multi-district litigation for the purposes of discovery.

Mr. Tobolowsky has tried a variety of matters in diverse geographical areas throughout the nation. By virtue of this broad practice, he has built a substantial and diverse network of attorneys in all areas of the United States with which the firm often works.

Mr. Tobolowsky is the author of "Obscenity: A Continuing Dilemma", which was published in the Southwestern Law Journal in 1970 and which details his argument on First Amendment rights before the U. S. Supreme Court. He has been a frequent keynote speaker at motion picture exhibitor conventions throughout the country.
